Who am I?

I am a full-time Masters student, and I am really interested in the intersection between UX and Instructional Design.

I am a blessed husband and father. My wife Jane, my daughter Annie, and I are all from Provo, Utah and we tell people all the time that we are as vanilla as can be. The truth is that we have lived abroad in Europe and Asia which has taught us to love other cultures and perspectives.

My Mantras

"Stop sawing sawdust, and start sawing the board"

Defining a problem is one of the most valuable skills in the word. I strive to avoid getting caught up sawing sawdust (the inconsequential details), and forgetting to saw the board (the real problem).

"Be committed to the problem, not the solution"

My first ideas are rarely my best. I have learned that if I can really commit to finding the best solution, I am better able to let go of my ideas as they need to evolve and others get involved.

"We are rich!"

Being rich isn't measured in dollars, it's measured by your outlook. I feel overwhelmed by the amount of blessings in my life. Most of all of these are my family and my faith.
